YWT 2020 'Stand As One'
Announcement 18 March 2020
YWT 2020 Cancelled
The Youth Network of Tasmania (YNOT) has made the difficult decision to cancel Youth Week Tasmania (YWT) 2020 following recommendations from federal and state health authorities in response to COVID-19.
The decision was also made following notification that 90% of YWT events across the State have been cancelled or postponed.
Whilst we are incredibly disappointed, the health and safety of young Tasmanians and the wider community takes priority. We understand that social distancing is one of the most effective measures in helping to contain the spread of COVID-19, and with some events expected to attract hundreds of people it would not be in the best interests of our community to proceed with Youth Week Tasmania at this time.
Youth Week Tasmania 2020 was set to take place between 1-8 April 2020.
For more information please do not hesitate to contact YNOT at admin@ynot.org.au or phone 6223 5511.

The theme for Youth Week Tasmania (YWT) 2020 was developed in consultation with young people and was chosen by the young members of the West Tamar Council Youth Advisory Council. The YWT 2020 theme is:
"Stand as One"
This theme was chosen to acknowledge that young people have a stronger voice when they stand united issues causing against inequality, including bullying, discrimination and crime. Furthermore, young people can influence meaningful change and better their futures by working together and with their communities to improve outcomes for everyone.
YWT 2020 events have been co-designed with young people and in partnership with other organisations, demonstrating the importance to 'Stand as One' to deliver fun, engaging, and rewarding events to celebrate being a young Tasmanian.
