Please note:

• Youth Week Tasmania 2024 grant recipients must still gain logo placement approval for all promotional material featuring the 'supported by Tasmanian Government' logo - this template simply helps streamline the process by ensuring the guidelines are met.
• If you alter the size or location of any of the logos featured in the template, the logo placement guidelines may no longer be met. 
• Organisers of events that are not funded by the Youth Week Tasmania 2024 Grants Program must remove the 'supported by Tasmanian Government' logo when using this template.

Youth Network of Tasmania Annual Report 2023-24

The Youth Network of Tasmania (YNOT) welcomes the opportunity to respond to the Tasmanian Government ‘Independent Review of Education in Tasmania’. This submission highlights the need for transformational education reform to improve student attainment and retention in Tasmania. This includes the delivery of a contemporary curriculum that equips students with practical skills necessary for life beyond school, working together for reform and empowering students to have more autonomy and agency in decision making relating to their own learning.

A new report released today by the Youth Network of Tasmania (YNOT) highlights the significant challenges young Tasmanians continue to face when attempting to access safe, affordable and appropriate housing across the State.

YNOT has renewed calls for the State Government to prioritise the housing needs of young Tasmanians as Homelessness Week kicks off around the country today.

Over one hundred and twenty young Tasmanians aged 12-25 years will travel to Launceston today to voice their concerns, contribute ideas and identify solutions at the 2024 Tasmanian Youth Forum (TYF) on Housing. Key findings from the event will be used to inform future policy and initiatives impacting young people living in Tasmania. 

Youth Week Tasmania, the State’s largest celebration of young people, kicks of today with exciting events planned across Tasmania. With events running from Monday, 8 April – Sunday, 14 April 2024, young people will have the chance to attend live music, skate and scoot competitions, festivals, movie nights, street art workshops, gaming events and more!

The Youth Network of Tasmania (YNOT), the peak body for young people aged 12-25 years, has joined with key advocacy groups on National Youth Homelessness Matters Day (YHMD) to urge governments to commit to key actions which will deliver better outcomes for young people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.

YNOT welcomes the opportunity to respond to the Tasmanian Government ‘Change for Children Consultation Draft: Tasmania’s 10-year Strategy for upholding the rights of children and young people by preventing, identifying and responding to child sexual abuse’.

A summary report for young people developed in collaboration with the South East Youth Engagement Project Youth Advisory Group. 

What would make the South East a better place for young people to live? This is the question posed to young people aged 12-19 years and service providers in the Glamorgan-Spring Bay, Sorell and Tasman Local Government Areas between January and March 2024. The report presents key findings and recommendations, and is envisaged that this report will inform the development of new initiatives and maximise existing resources throughout the South East to support increased participation of young people in the region.
