YNOT Submission to the Tasmanian Government Framework for Community Engagement

Date: Thu, 25/04/2013

The Youth Network of Tasmania (YNOT) welcomes this opportunity to provide feedback on the Tasmanian Government Framework for Community Engagement developed by the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPAC), through its Community Development Division (CDD).

YNOT is the peak body for the non-government youth sector in Tasmania. YNOT represents both the interests of its members and the interests of young people.  Integral to the work of YNOT is the youth participation structure the Tasmanian Youth Forum (TYF). TYF is Tasmanian’s peak youth consultative and participatory body.

YNOT has a long history of working with all levels of government in Tasmania, as well as providing a mechanism for Government to consult more widely with young people and the youth sector that supports them.  As such, this submission will provide feedback on aspects of community engagement important to:

• YNOT,
• the Tasmanian youth sector, and
• Young Tasmanians.
